I really should start piano lessons
My mom went to university at 30, passed the bar, became a lawyer, had beef with the provincial court, passed the bar in the next province over at 50 out of spite and commutes across the border to practice law in a different province.
She wants to help people navigate immigration court and represent them for free after she retires.

She’s always had the opinion that immigration and border control have way too much power to make snap judgements and send people packing without informing them of their rights.
She’s not even an immigration lawyer, she’s going to learn a whole legal framework after retirement just to stick it to the man.

There’s a fair number of lawyers in northern Ontario who also do a lot of work in Manitoba. Winnipeg to Kenora is something around a 2 hour drive.

Friend of mine could afford to retire early at 55. Did much of nothing for a few years. Then one day, he decided to go back to school. He’s now well on his way to a PhD in a completely unrelated field. He says it made him excited about life again.
That’s honestly what I would do if I could retire early, just go back to uni to study something that catches my fancy

It’s not pedophilia if they don’t want to fuck kids but are obsessed with youth and/or wanting to be young. Most of advertising is built around “it’s fun to be young” and “youth and beauty”. Capitalism as monetized envy. Make the people with money want the thing they can’t buy.
And the pedophilia is the root of it. Slowly, with small steps to youth and younger and younger. Women’s bodys must look like undeveloped, prepubety girl- slim , without hair on body and don’t let me start about being innocent and pure.

I’m 26 and have a shitty paying job plus a degree I don’t care to use. Probably will never retire but I can always retire myself.

here’s my perspective as an old man: unless you have enough money to NOT WORK for the rest of your life or are on the track to retire much earlier than 65, you don’t really have shit. at least nothing worth feeling superior about.
you do however have dreams and passions that could possibly be fulfilled despite your financial situation.

I know plenty of people who are retiring and feel empty since they did nothing but make money.
