Joe Biden has launched one of his most scathing attacks yet on Donald Trump’s record of racism, suggesting that the former US president would have acted differently to the January 6 2021 insurrection if was led by Black people.
The remarks, at a dinner hosted by a civil rights organisation in a critical swing state, pointed to an intensifying battle between Biden and Trump for African American voters ahead of November’s presidential election.
“Let me ask you,” Biden said during an address to an NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) dinner in Detroit. “What do you think he would have done on January 6 if Black Americans had stormed the Capitol?”
There was a collective gasp and murmur in the cavernous convention centre, where an estimated 5,000 guests had gathered. The president insisted: “No, I’m serious. What do you think? I can only imagine.”

Remember, Trump made sure to have a relatively light law enforcement presence in the capital. There were no unscalable barricades present. there was no call for the Nat Guard- despite assurances they were ready to go, and that was trump’s call.
the entire insurrection was planned by people who wanted to put trump back in the white house by any means necessary. I don’t know that it was entirely planned by trump- he’s a moron- but it was certainly done with his cooperation.

Honestly I’m pretty sure close to the same. At the least they’d probably call it a riot as opposed to an insurrection but it begs the question — would they do such a thing in the first place?
… But the left didn’t trespass into the Capitol; nor did they start beating cops relentlessly. Nor were their grievances as patently hollow and void as the Jan 6’ers. Nor were their actions stoked by the President, themselves. Nor were their goals as remotely fascist.
It’s a little confusing what Biden even meant. I assumed he was asking if white people were swapped out for Black people on Jan 6, and all else were equal.
Shot a bunch of people, to start. Probably after getting some sort of military in. Who knows, after that. Martial law? Dictator for life?

Generally intended for indirect applications, but there’s nothing inherently present that would prevent you from directly firing at protestors.

We would instantly transport back into the 1950’s. After “animals” “thugs” gets thrown out his z league faux military supporters would be outraged and a lot of people would get killed.
I remember saying at the time of these were black Americans they’d have been shooting immediately. There would have been fucking Blackhawks deployed and a show of force like you’ve never seen on your life.
Then America would have another Tiananmen Square to add to the MOVE bombing, Tulsa, Waco, etc.
If the Jan 6 insurrection had been done by people of color, Trump would have seen to that the few survivors would be severely punished. The rest would have been dumped in a mass grave.

i don’t know, this strikes me as dirty pool, the sort that you get bitten in the ass for. I guess we’re pretending in this scenario that it wasn’t Trump who called them there and organized them in the first place? We aren’t so desperate and out of ideas - already! - as to try to pretend he would call them there and then entrap his own supporters just because of their skin colour, are we? Cuz that’s stooping pretty low and there ain’t no call for that when you’re literally running against the gutter; quite the opposite. All you gotta do is run on the facts. (Or RUN AT ALL, HILARY)
