Yesterday someone asked if one could do something like this, here is my version, in case you missed it !

Here is the list of all the softwares in this picture :

  • Friendica
  • GNUSocial / Mastodon
  • Vernissage
  • Wordpress / Writefreely / Pixelfed
  • Loops
  • Jlai.lu (French lemmy instance) / Lemmy (with the lemmy.world logo because it’s more colorful than the plain lemmy logo)

Feel free to share it anywhere you want :)

If you have any idea for other meme of this type for the Fediverse, please send me a DM and I might make a nice graph like this for you !

“Judgmental asshole who hates the world” and “French” are a bit redundant

      I just downvoted your comment.

      FAQ

      What does this mean?

The amount of karma (points) on your comment and Lemmy account has decreased by one.

      Why did you do this?

There are several reasons I may deem a comment to be unworthy of positive or neutral karma. These include, but are not limited to:

      • Rudeness towards other Lemmings,

      • Spreading incorrect information,

      • Sarcasm not correctly flagged with a /s.

Am I banned from the Lemmy?

No - not yet. But you should refrain from making comments like this in the future. Otherwise I will be forced to issue an additional downvote, which may put your commenting and posting privileges in jeopardy.

I don’t believe my comment deserved a downvote. Can you un-downvote it?

Sure, mistakes happen. But only in exceedingly rare circumstances will I undo a downvote. If you would like to issue an appeal, shoot me a private message explaining what I got wrong. I tend to respond to Lemmy PMs within several minutes. Do note, however, that over 99.9% of downvote appeals are rejected, and yours is likely no exception.

How can I prevent this from happening in the future?

Accept the downvote and move on. But learn from this mistake: your behavior will not be tolerated on ^(?:(?:feddit\.(?:it|ie|uk|org|de|nl))|(?:lemmy\.(?:cafe|ml|ca|org|world|zip|nz))|(?:sh\.itjust\.works|programming\.dev|lemm\.ee|sopuli\.xyz|jlai\.lu|lemmy\.blahaj\.zone|lemmy\.dbzer0\.com|aussie\.zone|beehaw\.org|lemmy\.sdf\.org|slrpnk\.net))$. I will continue to issue downvotes until you improve your conduct. Remember: Lemmy is privilege, not a right.

You forgot the most frequently asked question:

Can you downvote this comment more than once?

        No.

Looks correct, but boring as you kept it pretty readable, the total opposite of what a regex should be.

            ^(?:(?:feddit\.(?:i[te]|uk|org|de|nl))|(?:lemm(?:\.ee|y\.(?:ca(?:fe)?|ml|(?:sdf\.)?org|world|zip|nz|blahaj\.zone|dbzer0\.com)))|(?:sh\.itjust\.works|programming\.dev|sopuli\.xyz|jlai\.lu|aussie\.zone|beehaw\.org|slrpnk\.net))$

I am a weirdo who actually like regex

    I am not.

It’s a photo sharing site using ActivityPub for the federation, but it’s not Pixelfed.

Well, maybe, but if I had asked about Lemmy you wouldn’t have given me a link, you’d have said “Fedi Reddit” and accurate or not that’s all I would need to hear. I didn’t get the feeling that this thing was just Instagram, so I was still a bit confused.

Only one thing: Why should somebody who’s over 60, but otherwise would answer any single other question with “no”, not be allowed to stay off of social media as well?

Additionally, why does age have anything to do with any of these questions? This feels like it was made by someone who doesn’t have much experience with other humans and is unaware of the massive variety of opinions and attitudes among all age groups.

It’s a direct copy from this graph, with just the logos replaced for federated/semi-federated services: https://feddit.org/post/13181365

Where Facebook is meant for the over 60 crowd, instead of Friendica, and TwitterX and Threads for the opinionated assholes instead of Mastodon, etc.

There the categories make a bit more sense.

People above a certain age should begin to avoid social media and stick with more private forms of communication like email, phone calls, signal messages and f2f discussions. Once your ability to tell fact from fiction deteriorates enough, announcing your opinions publicly becomes increasingly problematic.

According to this I should join GNUSocial.

But that sounds like a site for opinionated pricks who can’t keep their mouths shut.

    No thanks.

Unironiclaly I would love to see a useful version of a flowchart like this, it would be so easy to share something like this around to people in order to try out the fediverse compared to everything else.

I’m Lemmy and Mastodon, both extremes at wrong ages. Also not French.
