I don’t recall allowing it. I only recall waking up every day and doing personal hygiene and getting dressed and eating breakfast and going to work and going to the gym and coming home and where the hell in my daily survival routine can I control whether or not the president of the United States allows me to have free speech?

It was a stupid way for him to word that (no surprise, literally everything that comes out of his mouth is stupid), but I just want to point out that in the context of what he’s saying, what he intended to convey is that he got rid of the “freedom of speech” defense specifically for flag burning. Which… he didn’t. But he’s trying to by writing yet another executive order to instruct the DoJ to prosecute flag burners. Because, you know… a plague of flag burning is among the biggest problems facing our nation today.

Trump listens to money and clout. He isn’t a Zionist.

Biden is. Kamala would have been because she has no fucking spine.

Can liberals stop dividing the people when the 2024 GE happened a YEAR ago and INSTEAD focus our efforts on the current fucking administration??

It was so bad that we had to make the Palestinians suffer more by letting a fascist win instead.

The media is mostly controlled by republicans and anti-left billionaire centrists, so yes msnbc wants you to think people who care about gaza are the only people responsible for the last election just like they want you to believe that trans people “going too far” are why gavin newsome will lose the general election in 2028 (despite a large portion of democrats being LGBTQ voters and him falling into many right wing pitfalls on the issue)

I haven’t seen any math that holds up that gaza lead to Trump’s win on its own. What it likely did is create a lack of volunteers that led democrats to lose. You can’t scold people into knocking on doors, that’s a “lead by example” situation.

Democrats stepped on a lot of fucking rakes by trying to triangulate immigration and homelessness as well as catering their messaging to (and enriching right wing media with ad revenue in the process) people who will never vote for them.

Specifically Trump has also said Elon helped him rig the election. Elon musk and other social media owners hire people that understand psychology and will make AI clones of the most annoying people they can find and bury twitter in bots emulating those people just like they already find the people that upset conservatives the most (scientists have found conservatives overreact to disgust) and use that to ragebait them constantly. I’ve seen people calling themselves anarchists on this site who mimic media talking points about “online leftists”. Psychology works.

Assume somebody that makes more in a day than you will make in 100 lifetimes is spending a small fraction of their money trying to make you blame the people next to you for your problems instead of themselves because billionairs are doing exactly that.

If there are future elections any time soon, knocking on doors is going to be a lot more effective than screaming into an internet void full of chat bots that all disappear after elections. But if democrats spend all their money and goodwill buying ads on fox news again we’re doomed.

“We took the freedom of speech away,” President Donald Trump boasted in his opening remarks at his “antifa roundtable” Wednesday.

Wow… Despite the headline that still took me by surprise.

Do like Disney and instead of using actual American flags, use close approximations. Any action taken against you for burning a flag with 54 stars can net you a pretty penny in a civil suit!

You do know that freedom of speech protects you from government sanctions for speech, right? Last I checked the Fediverse wasn’t the government. So the moderators and admins here are free to say: “we don’t want you here” and ban you and nobodies freedom of speech was hurt.

Private organisations could always exclude you from their premise, same as you are free to exclude them from your premise. That’s called house rules.

Yeah and even with the new account you still won’t be able to comprehend what was written apparently. Words have meanings, you just seem incapable of accepting that. Two times you ignored what I wrote and went on some side tangent, so further discussing with you seems pointless. Have a nice day.

Nah, assassinations tend to have poor political outcomes. It creates martyrs and draws more to follow the cause, while excusing more extreme retribution. Political violence is more effective when targeting the systems that support the oppression.

Thompson was a supporter and part of the system, not a leader. Background people like him are a crap shoot. They can get lionized or demonized depending on who can get the narrative out better.
