There are so many. Perhaps because I occasionally go back and watch a compilation or two for the nostalgia - even though I missed the whole phenomenon when they were new - and weep not only for what was lost, but also for how the world was back then.
Here’s just a handful:
Look at all those chickens.
Oh my God, they were roommates.
Five feet apart because they’re not gay.
Fre Shavocado
Stahp! I nearly dropped my croissant!
Road work ahead? Boy, I sure hope it does!
The Kermit singing one. And the fact there’s an extended cut which is probably the origin not the Vine. Also the fact there at least two more Kermit clips from the same car that are super hard to find.
There’s only one thing worse than a r-pist… A child!
Someone already mentioned T-T-T-T-Target
Shalissa is not Beyonce. (And the fact there’s at least one return of Shalissa in the super-rare Vines.)
There’s a bunch of others, but I think I might be dredging them up now because I’m thinking about them rather than ones that come to me randomly.
I definitely quote “look at all those chickens” whenever there’s a large flock of any birds around
“a child” said in the style of that video is heard 10x a week in my workplace. as well as:
“ah fuck, I can’t believe you’ve done this”
My wife and I constantly say “A Child!” any time we see a kid do something stupid/annoying.
All of them?
Vine seriously was an art form. Get your idea across in 6 seconds, cut all the bs. Perfection.
One I haven’t seen mentioned yet is the kid doing a death drop in the yard and the xfiles theme plays with illuminati symbols flying up.
Something about Vine was so good. But I hate Tik Tok. Can’t put my finger on it
you got oldIt’s uh… the algorithm… probably
Maybe it was the algorithm, but it seemed to me that Vine was more about jokes and memes, where Musicly/TikTok was focused on lip sync and dancing videos.
Tik tok always felt like the algorithm was breathing down your neck. Vine was way more organic, and felt like minimal corporate influence.
If I remember correctly, vine creators didn’t get paid and there was very little sorting beyond new and popular
Yeah, some tried to pack too much in there and talked SO fast it was impossible to keep up with.
Ooh, that’s a good one!
I am also using this space as an opportunity to suggest, “Crunch Berries, nigga, damn.” And probably get crucified for it.
Haha wow, I did not come across this one back in the day, thank you
I don’t know who that dude is, but I’m sure the internet does. As these things went, he did a whole series of clips of Obama impersonations in various ridiculous scenarios.
I remember a lot of his Obama clips, just not that one. I think he did the part of Obama for Epic Rap Battles of History, too.
Calling 911 on a microwave! Yes! “Listen, children, let me show you the great leaders of humor from my time”
Storytime! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9Ge8z-nAEg
Not a particular video, but the storytime videos by Thomas Sanders.
Absolutely wasn’t thinking of those but yes, completely. I don’t know why I blanked that out but I watched more of his videos than any other on Vine. WTF.
Those are so good!
“What the fuck is up, Kyle‽”
Road work ahead?
I sure hope it does!
Back at it again at Krispy Kreme!
SMACK
And with a perfect cut at the end to keep us looping the video to figure out how bad it went for him
Back at it again reminded me of this one, https://youtube.com/shorts/zAECoPpTJks
Wii bowling girl https://youtu.be/_P3Xf_sUgI4Wii bowling girl
Hahaha, yes! Answering the question, “how funny can a 7 second video be?”
“What the fuck Richard?!”
Check out the buns on that guy.
This is the comedy police! Your joke is too funny!
IM NOT GOING BACL TO JAIL!!!
mainly think of the last 2 lines when I think of a dumb joke
So many of them make perfect punchlines to odd situations
