Calculator apps should have achievements, like “Pressed clear 5 times”, and “You could have done this in your head”.
“Did you really just add two single digits?”
Sometimes I do stuff that torpedoes my confidence so hard that, yes, I need to double check that
2 + 2really does equal3.~Today I relearned how bad I am with (de-)soldering, and wasted money on some hall effect joysticks for my now-trashed xbox controller. If you need me, I’ll be in the corner crying.~
Now I want a calculator app that insults you the whole time.
Well now I have something else to add to my pile of half completed projects. sigh

Bet you were cheating
I like to laugh at dumb people as much as the next one. But on a more serious note:
Brains forget shit. And my unsubstantiated opinion is that that is what makes humans so great. We can learn easily, but on the flipside, anything that isn’t practiced regularly goes down the drain. Calculating things in your head is one of those things you just don’t practice regularly (and why would you?) So draw out your calculator for things like the square root of 1337 and keep your precious cerebral resources for shit that matters, like making furry porn.
I won’t deny I forget shit, as you say, but 99% (hang on, let me check that on my calculator) of why I look stuff up is to double check.
Most (but definitely not all) of why I use private browsing, for example, is because I’m looking up a tech question to which I know the answer, but about which I want to be certain before I make a git commit.
Disregard arithmetic, acquire uwu.
A browser history may be embarrassing but at least you can explain it.
Me so horny?
Not after 24 hours.
5318008Me asking GPT how to do simple Python and Perl stuff that are literally examples in the relevant language docs
Seriously, it’s counting all the fucking zeros that get me.
No one must find out how many times I far-finger the same number and new and inventive ways
Fart finger
24+/4=Err
Damn it what was two plus three again i just cant remember.
Wait, you all are naughty too and totally ignore sig figs in your calculations?
I didn’t know this was such a depraved community…
LOL + LOL = hihi
707 + 707
I won a regional high school mathematical competition with items like “21+6” in my calculator history. It really helped to offload numbers to my trusty CASIO fx-85ES Plus and focus on the letters and logic.
