Yes.
Why not? We’ve survived pretty crazy things using sticks and stones. Now we have so much more, and there’s so many more of us to act as redundancy.
Yep.
Even if you aren’t religious (I’m not), I highly recommend reading the bible, and history since say the 1500’s.
Things were objectively MUCH worse prior to the 20th century.
Sorry, I have to ask, what has the Bible got to do with anything?
It’s an easily accessible book that gives a relatively accurate view of how people lived during that time if you disregard the mythology.
Just seems like an unusual choice when what you want to find out is quality of life.
Fuck kind of question is this? Humans are the most adaptable species on the planet of course we will.
Now, “will billions of humans suffer and die due to man-made phenomena?” Well that’s a question.
100%
Plenty of people born in 1926 were alive in 2000
As in people who are alive, right now?
Absolutely.
Sure, some will. Not my problem though.
Yes… but it’s gonna be very expanse-like… but without the UBI thing.
Like everyone grows up in a rough neighborhood like Amos Burton.
Welcome to Baltimore V.69420
I don’t have a reason to think they wouldn’t.
I suspect there will always be humans, but perhaps 0.5-5% of the current numbers by 2200. Society will be mostly muscle-driven again.
I think most people born in the years leading up to 2100 will still be alive in 2100.
Yes. Not sure on 2200. If for no other reason, the climate. By then things will either be exponentially worse, linearly worse, or somehow plateau to “just bad”. There’s no evidence in past heating events that there’s some magic wall where it stops that quickly, and we aren’t even doing much to slow down, much less try and undo what we’ve done. The numbers and graphs point to even 2050 as being pretty nasty, 2100 is really bad, so at 2200? Humans are very adaptation and resourceful, but there are physical limitations to everything.
Which specific people are you thinking of
I’m a believer that most likely we’ll either have destroyed the planet to the point of ecological disaster destroying civilization as we know it and people will still be around, trying to survive. Or we’ll just nuke the planet and people will still be alive, trying to survive and rebuild.
I’d say a deadly super virus could also be a plausible thing that a few people might magically survive somehow, but it depends on whether Pravus Gaming is playing on mega brutal difficulty or not and whether Greenland shuts down their port and airport. /s
Yes they won’t.
Probably not. I believe if we look at how poorly humanity as assimilated information about climate change, I think it is more or less a given that we will manage to kill ourselves off. A few stragglers might live in the bunkers the tech giants made for themselves, but humanity as a whole will be on the way out.
