I’m under the impression that Google deliberately hinders their YouTube platform just because you have ad-blockers. With videos taking time to buffer, seems to signal this, because it almost makes up nearly the amount of time for when ads take if you had to watch them. So since you’re ad-blocking and they don’t like that, they’ll make your experience miserable until you want to pay their service or not use ad-block.

Facebook’s mobile website takes way too long to load to encourage you to download the app. Only ever use it for marketplace and the occasional link my friends/coworkers send. I recieved a link on teams and my phone took over 20 seconds to load while my work computer did it instantly and both were on the same wifi. Sometimes it will just refuse to open posts on marketplace, so I have to use my computer.
Yea that is 100% intentional. It’s commonplace BS to get you to install the app so they can spy on you more easily.
To add to this, commenting on posts and posting photos is a huge pain on the browser version. Not that I use Facebook pretty much at all anymore.

Youtube definitely hinders the experience if you have adblockers. I’ve had a page load instantly and the video start to buffer immediately, only to refresh on its own a fraction of a second later, load the page slowly, and then wait about 10 seconds before any buffering would happen. If adblockers are disabled, the page loads instantly and the video buffers immediately.
I also regularly get the little popup in the corner saying “Experiencing interruptions?” but shockingly only if the adblocker is enabled. Weird.
I read somewhere that this is because adblockers sometimes can’t block the ad so they just block audio and video from it and wait it out.
I’ve no idea if it’s true.

I call it “trickle down rhetoric.”
Essentially, people with more wealth are looked up to by people with less wealth. When a wealthy person says something, their slightly-less-wealthy peers are more likely to agree with them. When the slightly-less-wealthy peers say something, their slightly-less-wealthy peers are more likely to agree as well.
This trend keeps happening until you reach the bottom of the barrel, where just about everyone who can’t think for themselves (most people) are just parroting ideas that have been put there by those with more power and influence.
It’s how we can convince the working class to vote for Hillary, Trump, and Biden over Bernie.
It’s how people trust the suits on tv that have been wrong about everything, but sure, let’s let the establishment run the opposition to the president, see, it wasn’t their fault! That my IP ended up on some foreign blacklist because of something political I said, probably about Israel. That’s not even hard to prove. On one of my accounts, they’ve been popping up little notifications oh-so-innocently asking the user if they’re having problems. They contain a link telling the user to turn off their ad-blocker or whatever other browser add-ons might be interfering with Google’s ad delivery platform. I paraphrase slightly, but it’s what they mean.
But to answer the question, while remaining somewhat vague: I know of someone who is said to have died of a specific ailment, but they’d hit very hard times and were of a religion where taking one’s own life is, or was, considered incredibly taboo. My lurking suspicion is that they might have done the unthinkable and it was covered up for the sake of appearances.
That’s not something I think I’d ever be able to prove and trying would cause more harm than good.
