No, they said it’ll be made in the USA and they wouldn’t lie and we definitely have the infrastructure to build it and for sure we can do that and still hit a low price of $500 when premium brands like the iPhone 16e cost even more despite being manufactured in the best electronics manufacturing environment hub in the entire world, China.

Why is everyone so critical of a lying grifter selling a bullshit product with a bullshit service that’s clearly full of lies? Everyone is being too hard on him. Remember when tariffs were imposed on everyone and now all iPhones are made in the USA and our industrial manufacturing bounced back to wear it was before the 1980s? Cause that happened.

You can’t cure stupid. Stop trying.

When these are out, I wouldn’t be surprised non-Apple, non-Samsung phone brands start getting outlawed.

I think outlawed is less likely. Probably insanely taxed so only the wealthy can afford them. Everyone else needs to use the Palantir T1 mobile spying device or else

Not to post a ref from that other site, but all the mobile nerds have yet to migrate. It’s a Schok Volt SV69 5G likely, rebranded. Retail $149. US company, Chinese fab. They’ll probably call it “made in the USA” for putting a plastic gold shell on it stateside.

The backing carrier is T-Mobile, although it seems the backing MVNO provider is Liberty Wireless, which is a T-Mobile MVNO. (Virtual cell carrier powered by the backing network.) T-Mobile allowed Liberty, and via that, this one.

For US-ians, it would be worth considering a carrier that isn’t based on T-Mobile the next time people are looking for cell plans. (In addition, T-Mobile is in bed with Muskrat Starlink for their mediocre sat-to-cell service, and also T-Mobile leveraged Mango’s first term to buy their way ahead of the competition in 5G spectrum.)

Thanks for the information. I’m going to be shopping for a phone soon and I’ve been using Metro PCS. I guess I’ll be looking at other options.

Well yeah, that’s obviously what “designed and built in the US” means, no? /s
