“I didn’t know she was Black until a number of years ago when she happened to turn Black and now she wants to be known as Black. So, I don’t know, is she Indian or is she Black?” Trump said while addressing the group’s annual convention.

What an utter waste of DNA. And that was only the start of all the racist shit he said.

He compared the 2021 insurrection to the protests in Minneapolis and other cities in 2020 following the death of George Floyd by Minneapolis police and to more recent protests at the Capitol last week by demonstrators opposed to the war in Gaza. Trump falsely claiming that no one was arrested in those other demonstrations and that only his supporters were targeted.

As Trump made the comparison, a man in the back of the room shouted out: “Sir, have you no shame?”

    None. Literally none at all.

“Haven’t you been paying attention? No, I have no shame. Nobody has less shame than I do, everyone is saying it.”

That might be one superlative I’d actually believe if he said it.

He doesn’t understand how sombody can be more than one thing. Because everyone around him is so one dimensional.

Indian mother and a black father and still American? How is this possible?! Its nearly as if she fell out of a coconut tree.

Latinos, especially older ones that escaped authoritarian regimes that pretend to be communist, I get. They are terrified of communists and socialists, which is how the Republicans paint Democrats. It’s almost like triggering PTSD for some of those folks.

Yeah, and I wish that were it! Honestly. I totally get it, too. But in our case, my die-hard MAGAt aunt and her son both crossed the border illegally. They’re not old or uneducated. Our government has never been authoritarian or communist during her lifetime. Like, she even has another gay son, ffs. I don’t get it. lol

Yes. There are a decent swath of votes who vote Republican but aren’t tuned in super well. Studies show that only about 30% support trump directly. That leaves 15% to 20% of his voters who simply vote the party or vote based on “it’s better for my wallet”

By running on racism and other distasteful platforms, it will chip into that normies pool, and they are likely to not turn out. Not all of the normies will see it or be affected by it, but if even 5% of the voting population chooses to not vote over voting for trump, it will be a disaster for trump and down ballot Republicans.

I guess the good thing this indicates is that black people as a population have significant voting power if the Trump campaign tactic is to alienate Harris from black voters

Now we know why they gerrymander so hard, b/c otherwise their ghouls probably won’t even come close to being elected

I’m not sure this was quite the boon for Trump. He hasn’t faced anything but soft ball Fox News reporters for years, and just made headlines for pitching a fit after being interviewed by actual journalists

The people who are into evil racist shit already know everything he has to say on that front. The people who aren’t into the evil racist shit but only watch other specific sources that don’t show it, don’t normally get to see that side of him.

First of all anyone who doesn’t know Trump’s into evil racist shit by now is unreachable and that seems like a moot point to me. But again the message of this event is not in the people who watched it. It’s the victory of Association. Trump to his base; see the blacks had me in to tell them the truth and now they know how it really is. That’s going to be the message. And there are going to be a few racist that he’s going to reach with this who might not have voted before. People who weren’t inspired by the idea of voting against old man Joe Biden are going to be paying a little more attention now.

Liberals and leftists have never understood this about conservative politics. Conservatives completely control narratives. Actual events actual facts never matter. That’s exactly why for instance they wanted that audio testimony of Joe Biden when they already had the transcripts. Same exact thing. It’s not about what’s actually said it’s about the easy picture the easy sound clip the easy message. You can’t give them easy openings. You have to make them work for it. When they have to sell their people on facts and arguments and policies they fail.

The hilarious part of all this would be to see America actually elect this idiot. Say what you want about him but he’s running to lead the most powerful country in the world.

The fact that he is even a contender says more about America than anything.

I stopped laughing at Trump a long time ago … I now point my finger at the American population.

I have hope for the US because of Harris but if Trump wins it, the world will never look at the US with any bit of respect (if there ever was any left) ever again.
