JD Vance has said he is ready to take on the presidency “If God forbid, a terrible tragedy happens” to Donald Trump.

In a wide-ranging interview with USA TODAY, the vice president said he was “confident” President Trump would see out the rest of his term, but added he has had a lot of “on-the-job training”.

He also insisted to White House Correspondent Francesca Chambers Trump was in “incredibly good health”, despite recent questions about the president’s physical wellbeing.

I gotta wonder why he said that, especially in light of all the rumours surrounding orangeman’s health.

Could be Vance is giving America a head’s up of things to come.

What are you even saying, there is no reason, this is NORMAL. I too keep declaring regularly to my family that I am ready to step up and inherit my dad’s house and live there instead of my shitty flat should ThE uNsPeAkAbLe happen. This is to reassure my dear family of my loyalty to my dear old dad and my confidence in his health, obviously, may he live to 150. Normal People Things.

        🫠

I don’t do this, not least because I am in no shape to take care of a whole-ass house lol

We can only hope that trump does end up dying soon and this comment sparks some massive conspiracy and the right turns on and subsequently eats itself

Enjoy the very momentary joy of trumps death when it happens.

If it happens in this term, you’ll find out exactly what Vance is.

      I dont think so.

Maybe if he’s had a stroke or something, it might take them a few days to figure out the prognosis and decide what to do.

They would already have a plan in place for his death and would implement immediately if that happened.

Sadly he isn’t. I drank the beer i bought in disappointment and not celebration. He showed up for another golf game recently and didn’t seem any different. He is in terrible health no doubt and JD Vance would not say that he is ready to step up as president if nothing was the matter.

When Trump dies, no matter how, it will cause a fracture in the MAGA movement. The only reason why Trump is tolerated is not because of any intelligence or expertise, but he is absolutely able to command a hardcore fanatical base. Even Steve Bannon said that. They simply dont have a replacement for someone as charismatic as him.

I’d rather have Kilkenny. It is a true Irish beer that is owned by Irish people, and I support the Irish and their support of Palestinians.

While I also admire the Irish support of Palestinians not being mass-murdered, and despise the Guinness family, I’ll have a nice Belgian monk beer, or three. Trappiste Rochefort 10 is a good choice, but there are many others.

Well it seems that Trump is not dead… at least for now. There is no saying he won’t be dead soon, given his clearly failing health. Might as well drink to the fact that they at least hinted strongly that he is not long for this world. They can stop an assassin’s bullets, but not mother nature’s course.

Also Kudos on your fine taste in beer.

To be fair he did not say that unprompted. A journalist specifically asked him if he felt ready to take the president’s place should something happen. And it is downright misleading from the article writer’s part to not mention that detail.

trump is a bully who, for some fucking reason beyond the horizon of my comprehension, people are afraid of. vance is a fucking potatofaced punching bag who literally no one cares about, let alone is scared of.

maybe wishful thinking, but my single shred of hope lies in the implosion/evaporation of the GOP when trump finally fucking croaks and people are shitting on his grave

vance doesn’t have the capability to be the cult leader trump is. he’s a fucking joke (not to say trump isn’t). he’ll be torn to shreds, not just by normal people, but by troompa loompas as well. the people who fellate cardboard cutouts of trump are so fucking stupid that they have zero problem with trump having an immigrant wife, but big problem with vance having an immigrant wife.

there might be some other reality in the multiverse where i actually pity vance and his inevitably terrible future-- but it isn’t this one

Usha Vance is not an immigrant. She is the wrong color though.

To MAGA crowd the latter dictates the former, legal realities be damned.

lol you need to spend more time understanding how these people think:

it doesn’t matter if you’re a “citizen” or you were literally “born in the states” . less than 100% white = immigrant. that’s it. unless you happen to reside in the upper echelons of the maga hierarchy–then anything goes, regardless of how contradictory it may be to everything else.

i think one of the main things that normal people need to get started on is stop assuming that anything needs to make any sense to GOP.

edit: i want to say: i love it when people downvote without replying. that just means you have no claims to counter my statements, and you hate it, but can’t do anything but click that down arrow, as if that makes your position valid or something.

            lol

best of luck to you in the future

“He’s got incredible energy, and while most of the people who work around the President of the United States are younger than he is, I think we find that he actually is the last person who goes to sleep, he’s the last person making phone calls at night, and he’s the first person who wakes up and the first person making phone calls in the morning.

Because everyone else is a hardcore alcoholic…

If Trump has the most energy out of all his staff. That’s not a good thing for trump, it’s a bad thing for his staff.

Same bullshit as when Biden was in office, like, I’m pretty sure they were saying the exact same thing when he was in office.

“If Air Force One, carrying Mr. Trump were struck by a missile and blown up, that would be a tragedy.”

“Fantastic,” exclaims Vance, “that’s right. And can you tell me WHY that would be a TRAGEDY?”

“Well,” says the boy, “because it wouldn’t be an accident, and it certainly wouldn’t be a great loss.”
